That's the point

What images do you have in your head when you think of “the East”? Nazis, AfD, whiny Easterners? There are plenty of clichés, but here we are: the first post-East generation - growing up between the Baltic Sea and boot Nazis, prefabricated housing and terraced houses, Bravo hits and Vita Cola.
As post-reunification children (born from 1987 onwards), we never consciously experienced the GDR. Whether we wanted to or not, we were often turned into unofficial representatives of the East. In fact, today we could be the social shapers of the present and the future - if we were allowed to!  

That's why you need to come 

East and West meet in this installation performance: together with the voices of other children of the post-reunification period, artists Luisa Bäde, Karolin Benker and Josephine Luka Simonsen set out to make the diversity of East German biographies more visible and break down clichés. 35 years after reunification, they say: It's time to exchange ideas and learn from each other!
