That's what it's all about
The tragedy Medea is a timeless story that still captivates us today. Stefanie Anna Miller directs this Greek classic for the stage and tells the story of a woman who leaves her family for her lover Jason, only to be abandoned and rejected by him later and becomes the murderer of her children out of revenge. In Miller's production, Medea is played by the deaf actress and deaf performer Cindy Klink. Together with an ensemble of deaf, hearing-impaired and hearing actors as well as a sign language choir, a production is created that makes deaf culture visible and sets an example for inclusion.
This is why you need to come
Medea.silence is passion, betrayal and revenge. But it is also a production that builds bridges and calls for social inclusion. Themes such as exclusion and justice are at the emotional and visual center and show the topicality of the ancient material. Miller manages to bring a play to the stage that can be experienced by both hearing and deaf people.
