That's what it's all about

A square on the stage, a playing area: What position do you take, how do you behave when someone takes an opposing position? What is important to you? What happens when others join in? We are already in a dynamic democratic process. DEMOCRATIC PLAYGROUND - exploring the room is a dance and theater performance by and with young people.

That's why you should come

The group around the artist duo Elbers/Zhukov brings democracy to life. In their collaborative approach, they have collected voices and thoughts on social processes. Theory is left at the door and the focus is on the core of democratic processes: the willingness to negotiate, enduring differences of opinion and the courage to change one's own perspective. Sounds, movements and words create a dialog that challenges everyone.

Pssst!

Choreographer Stefanie Elbers and director Oleg Zhukov have been working together since 2005. Their joint artistic work is characterized by the active involvement of young people, whose experiences form the basis of the creative processes.

DEMOCRATIC PLAYGROUND - exploring the room is a co-production of FFT Düsseldorf and Sommerblut Kulturfestival.
